I can tell—you still love God, but your spirit just feels heavy, tired, and stretched thin.
You ain’t lost your faith, sugah pie… you’re just worn from carrying more than you were ever meant to hold alone.
By the time we finish this little devotion, you gon’ remember how to rest your heart back in God’s hands without fear or pressure.
Even quiet mornings belong to God, baby—He meets us in the stillness.
Why loving GOD can still feel heavy sometimes...
Let me tell you something… loving God don’t mean you won’t get tired. It just means you keep coming back, even when your strength runs low.
Some of you are tired because you’ve been praying and waiting a long time. Some of you are tired because church taught you how to perform—but not how to rest. And some of you, my sweet babies, are tired because you blame yourself for every dry season.
God’s heart is kinder than what you’ve experienced. He ain’t standing over you with crossed arms. He’s sitting close, listening, and waiting for you to exhale. MAMA 'LAINE is tellin’ you the truth—you don’t have to prove your love to Jesus. Jesus is gonna always be there for us… through thick and thin, up or down, in or out. He’ll be there.
What would it feel like to love God today without trying so hard?
Baby, your "tired" love still counts—God sees your heart, not your hustle.

Let's walk through how to rest with GOD...
Jesus is on the way, and He knows exactly where you’re hurting. We gone take this slow and simple—no heavy lifting today.
1. Tell God the Truth About Your Tiredness
Sit somewhere quiet and say it plain:
“Lord, I still love You… but I’m tired.” That honesty opens the door, baby.
2. Let Silence be Holy
You don’t have to fill the room with words. Sit still and let God’s presence do the talking. The Word says, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10, NIV). Baby, stillness ain’t laziness—it’s trust.
3. Hold One Gentle Scripture
Not a whole Bible study—just one verse to lean on: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18, NIV). I’ve had seasons where that one line was all I could carry, and let Mama tell you—it carried me right back to peace.
4. Talk to Jesus Like Family
Tell Him what disappointed you. Tell Him what confused you. Ain’t no sin GOD cannot forgive, and ain’t no emotion He don’t already know about. Remember, your arms are too short to box with GOD. Don’t fight Him, trust Him!
5. End with Permission to Rest
When you feel your body soften—that’s your cue to stop. God don’t need you exhausted to love you. Ain’t no problem too big for GOD to fix, and He don’t rush healing. We gotta trust in Jesus when we can’t trust nobody else!

Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, we come to You tired but still loving You the best we know how.
Thank You for not pushing us when we need rest and not shaming us when we feel weak. Heal the places where the church hurt made us afraid to trust again. Wrap us in Your peace and teach us how to rest in Your presence. We believe You are near among us. In Jesus' Mighty Name we pray... AMEN.
